The purpose of this policy is to explain how Digicast (which we also refer to as "we" or "us") collects, uses and discloses the personal information of individuals who use Digicast's Services, as well as to highlight rights regarding personal information and how to assert those rights.
By using our Services, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, retention and destruction of your personal information in accordance with the terms of this Policy and applicable law.
This policy is intended to meet the legislative requirements of Quebec and Canada with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.
1. Scope
The Privacy Policy applies to users (who we also refer to as "you", "your" or "yours") benefiting from the following Services offered by Digicast:
- Websites and applications operated by Digicast, including icastPro and icastGo;
- Full support for video production;
- Broadcasting of digital events;
- Access to our network of IT consultants.
This privacy policy also applies when we carry out targeted digital advertising, including interest-based advertising, and when we use cookies.
Our websites may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites. Digicast provides these hyperlinks as a convenience and therefore has no control over the privacy and confidentiality practices of third-party sites. Thus, any personal information shared via such sites is not covered by this Privacy Policy, but is subject to their own privacy policies. It is the responsibility of users to be aware of these policies to protect their personal information.
We also collect information transmitted by social networking sites or applications (e.g. LinkedIn and YouTube) when a visitor interacts with profiles owned or controlled by Digicast on these social networking platforms. These sites or applications are governed by privacy policies that differ from ours. If you choose to interact with us through these social media platforms, you should first read the terms of service and privacy policies of these third-party service providers and the applications used to access them.
2. Personal information
Personal information is confidential information about a natural person that allows that person to be identified, directly or indirectly. It is information that, alone or in combination with other data, makes it possible to identify you as an individual.
3.Collection of personal information and purposes of collection
In the course of providing our Services, we need to collect certain personal information.
Digicast only collects personal information that is necessary for the conduct of its business and for the purposes identified at the time of collection.
Digicast may also collect personal information from third parties, such as its partners and service providers. We collect personal information that you voluntarily and directly provide to us through our Services (e.g. by filling in a form) or otherwise (e.g. by e-mail or post).

4. Browser Cookie Information
We use cookies to improve the performance of our websites, to quantify the visits, to authenticate authorized users, and to analyze and define the interests of our members in order to better personalize our Services.
You can normally control the storage of cookies using the options provided by your web browser. Disabling certain cookies may affect the quality of your browsing experience or render certain website functionalities unavailable.
The use of cookies is required for user authentication. Unless a user has already provided information about themselves (for example, by activating a service linked to a user account) from their mobile device or computer, cookies cannot be used to identify them directly.

5. Targeted advertising
We may use Google Ads to collect your preferences and interests for the purpose of targeted advertising, or in other words to serve you ads based on your browsing history and search queries. Social media may also be used in the context of our online advertising based on your centers of interest. For example, we may use Facebook's tracking pixel to identify visitors in order to offer them personalized advertising.

6. Retention of personal information
Duration
Digicast will retain your personal information for a minimum period of 2 years. However, the retention period may be extended even after the purposes have been fulfilled, in particular for legal or regulatory reasons. At the end of this period, the information will be erased or made anonymous.
Localization
Depending on the nature of the personal information, it may be stored by Digicast or by service providers. Your personal information is generally stored in Quebec. However, for specific services, our service providers may be located outside the province or even outside the country. Digicast takes reasonable steps to ensure that such service providers are committed to handling personal information held by Digicast in accordance with this Policy and applicable law. Data held outside Quebec may not benefit from the same legislative protection as in Quebec.
7. Private data protection
The security and protection of personal information is important to Digicast. While it is impossible to guarantee 100% protection, Digicast has adopted measures that meet recognized security standards to ensure privacy and the protection of personal information.
More specifically, Digicast is ISO 27001 certified and deploys physical, technical and administrative security measures including staff training and awareness, security risk management, vulnerability management, identity and access management, IT equipment management and asset classification, encryption of data in transit and at rest, incident management and business continuity planning.
We also enter into agreements with our service providers to ensure that your personal information is adequately protected, and that it is used only to provide services to us.
8. Disclosure of personal information
Unless explicitly stated in the table below or through a clear notice to that effect, personal information collected by Digicast is not sold, distributed, rented or communicated to other persons or organizations:
Digicast staff and other users | Personal information collected by Digicast is accessible by certain employees who require access in order to perform their duties and as described in this Policy. These individuals are bound by this Policy and committed to Digicast to use personal information collected by Digicast only in accordance with this Policy. |
Service providers | Some personal information may also be disclosed to other individuals or organizations who are service providers to Digicast. In such cases, these persons or organizations are responsible to maintain the confidentiality of the personal information and to use it exclusively to fulfill their mandate to us. We use our service providers to host data and applications. |
Restructuring | In the event that a restructuring or sale of the business operated by Digicast is contemplated, we may disclose personal information collected to persons or organizations involved before and after such transaction, whether or not the transaction goes through. In such a case, we require that such persons or organizations take the responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of the personal information communicated, like we did, and to use it exclusively for the purposes of such transaction, or subsequent thereto, in accordance with this policy. |
Advertisers |
In the course of using our Web site, certain personal information collected through cookies is made available to advertisers through real-time auctions. Auctions are a system that allows advertisers to pay to display ads that are relevant to you and tailored to your habits or preferences. Please note that this section does not apply to the use of our icastPro and icastGo applications. |
Legal requirements | We may also disclose collected personal information to other persons or organizations if a competent authority orders us to do so under applicable law or if applicable law expressly permits such disclosure, even without the consent of the individual concerned. |
Aggregated and anonymized information | Digicast may disclose personal information when we believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of third parties or Digicast, or to ensure compliance with users' obligations to Digicast. |
9. Your rights regarding your personal information
You have basic rights when it comes to your personal information.
Here are some examples of the rights you may enjoy. If you require further information, please contact our Privacy Officer to clarify your rights:
- The right to be informed about the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
- The right to access your personal information and to know its origin.
- The right to rectify inaccurate or obsolete personal information.
- The right of deletion of your personal information. Please note that this right is not absolute and is subject to specific situations.
- The right to data portability or the right to request a copy of your personal information.
- Right to withdraw consent previously given for the processing of your personal information, depending on the context. Withdrawal of consent may limit Digicast's ability to offer you certain products or Services. In addition, under applicable law, Digicast may have the right or obligation to retain, use or disclose certain personal information.
- The right to request additional information regarding automated processing. This refers to situations where a decision would be made about you using your personal information solely on the basis of automated processing (for example, by means of an algorithm or profiling).
10. Access to personal information
We will respond to any written request within 30 days of receipt, whenever possible.
We will verify the identity of an individual seeking access to his or her personal information. Information provided for such verification will not be recorded or used for any other purpose.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your personal information, such as contact information, is kept up to date with Digicast.
11. Junk mail
We comply with current legislation regarding unwanted electronic messages (spam). If you no longer wish to receive electronic communications from us, or if you consider that you have received an inappropriate or unwanted communication, please follow the unsubscribe mechanism found in Digicast electronic messages.
However, we may still contact our users regarding their orders, requests for information or personal information, all in accordance with applicable laws.
12. Policy change
This Policy may be amended to reflect changes in our personal information collection, use and disclosure practices, or changes in the laws applicable to us. We encourage you to look up regularly for changes to this Policy.
